Achieve Learning Programs |
Individuality in assessment and programing along with teaching methods that suit each
student s learning style is the key to success at Achieve. We do not
believe that one program fits all children so we create our programs to be as unique
and distinctive as your child. |
Lil' Achievers Reading Program (3 - 5 years old) Did you know that your three year old can learn to read? Register your preschooler, JK or SK student in our Lil' Achievers program to learn basic pre-reading skills and to build fluency and confidence within existing reading levels. Instruction is customized to respond to your child's reading level. Shared reading and language activities supplement independent assignments. Students earn fun incentives to build confidence, enthusiasm and a love of reading! Giving your children a head start in reading is one of the most important things you can do to help them succeed in the classroom. Primary Plus+ Math and Language Program (SK - Grade 3) Developing strong reading and language skills in the primary grades is essential for continued academic success and growth. Students in this program are provided with individualized support within a shared session. Students work on key math and language skills from their personal Learning Plan and enjoy the privacy of their own work space. Specific areas of support will be targeted, based on your child's academic performance level. Students are provided with a wide range of exercises and activities designed to strengthen their skills at grade level. Earning incentives and prizes help to make our Primary Plus program a hit and make learning fun! Junior Achievers Math and Language Program (Grades 4 - 8) If your child is performing at grade level and needs a little motivation, practice, and opportunity to learn independent study habits and test taking techniques, Junior Achievers can help. Weekly customized lessons are built around your child's individual needs and their Achieve Learning Plan. Students are provided with their own workspace and receive individual instruction by an Achieve teacher. One teacher oversees these shared sessions with three students who work separately. Students earn incentives and Achieve dollars to use to shop at our Achieve store, full of fun school supplies and rewards. High School Plus+ Program All Subjects (Grades 9 - 12) We are pleased to announce that Achieve is now offering academic support for your high school students. Families have been thrilled (and relieved!) to hear that their children, who came to Achieve as primary and junior students and have graduated to high school, can receive academic support every step of the way. Our experienced high school teachers are confident with grade level guidelines and the complex and condensed curricula and offer individualized support for your child in any subject. 1:1 Individual Instruction Program (All ages) Achieve has always prided itself on offering quality, professional and personalized individual support in the form of one on one tutoring. For students who require more intensive tutoring, our Individual Instruction program is recommended for children who are working below grade level and/or have learning challenges. Students may graduate to our primary, junior or high school programs after gaining confidence and knowledge in key math and language concepts, study skills and independent work habits. En Francais ~ French Program (All ages) Parlez vous francais? With French immersion growing in popularity, many parents are finding it challenging to keep up with their children's studies. Our bilingual teacher will work with your child to practice conversational French and to offer homework and curriculum support. These sessions can be booked on a flexible weekly basis. Computers in the Classroom (All ages) At Achieve, we know how important the use of computers and technology is in the classroom and the greater business and social community. For this reason, we have developed a keyboarding program which can be delivered on its own, or in combination with one of our other academic programs. Through learning proper keyboarding technique and correct key stroking, students will develop the ability to be proficient in using a keyboard. Students that touch type (typing without looking at fingers) can spend more time on the writing process and completion of work instead of the mechanics of typing. Students will also learn proper posture and hand position, which reduce the likelihood of possible strain injuries. Students who have been formally identified as having exceptionalities and learning challenges, will especially benefit from learning to use the keyboard to enhance their writing skills. Students who register for this program, will be using the "All the Right Type" keyboarding program to continue to build skills in speed, accuracy, finger position and posture. Achieve Express ~ Intensive Tutoring (All ages) Achieve Express is high power, high impact tutoring consisting of daily sessions for a minimum of two hours for a two week period. These intensive sessions are great for students in need of review before returning to school, test and exam preparation or project completion. Students will learn the most efficient strategies for studying and for completing their projects to achieve top results. Homework Help, Study Skills and Test Preparation Bringing your homework to learning sessions is not only permitted, it is recommended. We won't complete it for students, but we will them show how to organize work, manage time and stay focused until their projects are complete. Our programs help students become better problem solvers and test takers. We teach our students how to analyze information, sequence their thoughts, be active listeners and how to prepare for tests using different study strategies. Worried about DYSLEXIA? Achieve offers dyslexic screening as part of our regular intake process. If a parent or caregiver is concerned that their child may be exhibiting signs of dyslexia (www.dyslexia.com/library/symptoms.htm), completing the screening which includes comprehensive results in diagnosing the different types of dyslexia or ruling it out all together, can help. This test is included as part of our Total Assessment, or can be used by itself to address concerns about this style of learning. Regardless of the outcome of the screening, each student will receive the support they need, in the form of an individualized program built to address their own specific academic needs. |
